As you've probably guessed by now, TEXAS STRANGERS is sadly on hiatus. Sorry for the lateness of this update, but we've been trying to figure out a way to carry on - unfortunately, a number of different things have happened that make it impossible for us to continue publishing issues at the moment.

Nobody is more upset about this than us. We all love the characters, and there's still a lot of story left to tell. And we know those of you who read the first two issues want more, because you told us!

So this wasn't a decision we took lightly. We're still looking at different ways to continue the story, and get it into people's hands. If we succeed, we'll of course post here and let everyone know.

But for the foreseeable future at least, Wyatt, Madara, Rick and the others are hanging up their spurs.

Signings at Golden Apple & San Diego

The TEXAS STRANGERS team will be out in force for two signings this week!

The first is at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles 7018 Melrose, on La Brea). We'll be there this Wednesday (25th) from 1-3pm.

The second is at San Diego Comic-Con, on Sunday morning at 10am. We'll be at the "Image Island" stand, booth number 2729.

We'll have a limited number of sneak preview ashcan editions of issue #3 at both signings - stop by and grab one while you can!

Issue #2 on sale tomorrow... maybe?

Yee-haw! Issue #2 of TEXAS STRANGERS, featuring the 'explosive' end to the story TRAINING DAY, may* be on sale in US comic stores tomorrow!

*Image's ship date has the book down for July 25th, which is of course next week. But the book's on Diamond Distributors' list for tomorrow. So the truth is we won't know until tomorrow, but the issue might hit shops this week. If it doesn't, then it'll definitely by the 25th.

Ambition: Tula hopes to one day be accepted by his people.

Tula Roadwalker raised himself.

Tula has pretty much grown with the Free Nation of Texas, having lived through both the Civil War and the Azteca War that gave Texas its independence. But that's about all he knows of his past. He says that he was saved by the gods as a child, from an Azteca raiding party. He had to fend for himself, learning English from travelers and any townspeople that would take pity on him. No one is quite sure how he learned to use such powerful Wild Magic, or why other Elves shun him and call him unclean...

Tula's only friends are also Strangers, as most townsfolk are wary of the Elves - and the Elves want nothing to do with him.

The field leader of the Texas Rangers is a hard nut to crack. He was one of the first Rangers appointed, and most people are pretty sure he was in the Texas Revolutionary War. But before that, no-one's sure - and Blackwood doesn't talk about his past.

He is never seen out of his full dress uniform, no matter how hot it gets. Several people have noticed that he's survived some fairly dangerous situations, only to go looking for another. But while he is a lawkeeper, Rick seems to be a man of practicality. "Sometimes the only way to get through to a mule is to kick him in the head...but sometimes you just need to give him a treat" is his method of peacekeeping. And once he sets his mind to something, he never gives up. Blackwood inspires a great amount of loyalty from his Rangers and an equal amount of fear in his enemies.

Madara is the the leader by default of her outgoing personality. She is the daughter of a war hero that she has come to worship. She learned how to track, hunt, shoot and fight from her dad, but she had a mom that let her still be a girl. You may not see it at first, but Madara isn't afraid to punch you for being a jerk... then set up an appointment to get her nails done. A girl has to have priorities!

Ambition: To become a Superior Wild Magician. Or a doctor.

Wyatt Houston is a natural magician born to a family that never had one. Growing up in the Alaskan territories, he found that he had a knack for "shapin' and spellin'." His father wasn't thrilled but knew that it would be worse to let Wyatt run wild with his gifts. He found a local Shaman to help tutor Wyatt enough that he wouldn't be trouble.

The younger of the Houston twins ("I would have been first but my sister's always been pushy"), Wyatt tends to be the follower - mostly following Madara to get her out of whatever trouble she's found, but he secretly enjoys the thrill of adventure too.
